HAZID workshop Hamburg
20 October 2025
January, 2024
Every great innovation begins with asking the right questions, and that’s exactly what a HAZID (Hazard Identification) workshop is all about. Before a single vessel sets sail, experts from different fields come together to imagine every possible “what if?” scenario. By identifying potential risks early, they help shape a safer, more reliable design and ensure that each step of the project moves forward with confidence.
For the SeaShuttle project, this workshop marked an important milestone. Led by DNV and LH2 Shipping, it brought together engineers, designers, safety specialists, and other key partners, all sharing one goal: to make hydrogen-powered shipping safe, efficient, and future-ready.
During the workshop, participants explored how hydrogen behaves at sea, how safety systems respond under different conditions, and how every component of the vessel can work together seamlessly. This open exchange of expertise and ideas allows us to anticipate potential challenges before they happen and turn them into opportunities for improvement.
By taking this proactive approach, we’re not just building ships; we’re building trust.
