Steel cutting ceremony
24 October 2025
February, 2024
Every ship has a story, and it begins with the first cut. The steel-cutting ceremony marks the official start of a vessel’s construction. It’s a tradition in shipbuilding, one that celebrates the transition from vision to reality.
For us, this milestone was even more meaningful. The ceremony took place during our Sustainability Day. We dedicate this day to celebrating our accomplishments, but also looking ahead to what is next as we continue to pioneer in the maritime industry. As the first pieces of steel were cut, it wasn’t just the beginning of a new ship; it was the beginning of the world’s first hydrogen-powered SeaShuttle.
This event brought together partners, engineers, and visionaries who are as committed as us to reduce emissions and drive progress in maritime transport. This day served as a powerful reminder that every small step, every cut of steel, brings us closer to our goal of cleaner oceans, smarter technology, and a more sustainable future for global trade.
