Last month, we successfully rolled out a new planning process and implemented the IXSuite system for our international rail services between the Netherlands and Germany, including the first and last-mile truck transport connected to these rail lines. This marks the full integration of Germany-bound rail into a unified platform that already includes our Italy and Sweden services.

With this rollout, all of Samskip’s international rail transport is now planned in one harmonized system which is a major step toward standardizing our inland operations. You might wonder what kind of benefits this offers? The standardization IXSuite brings reduces complexity, shortens transit times, and ultimately means a more reliable and efficient experience for our customers.

The implementation of IXSuite across our inland network is much more than a system upgrade. It’s a strategic investment in visibility, predictability, and performance. And we’re just getting started. By mid-May, our planning for externally operated barges will also move into IXSuite. Over the coming year, we’ll expand the system to include all inland transport modes; truck, barge, and rail across every region we serve.
