Samskip is proud to celebrate the groundbreaking partnership with FincoEnergies as part of their Biofuel Swap initiative. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in reducing CO₂ emissions in European road transport, furthering Samskip’s commitment to sustainable logistics solutions.

Through the Biofuel Swap program, FincoEnergies ensures that 25,000 liters of sustainable Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) are blended into the Dutch road transport fuel network. This innovative approach allows companies like Samskip to claim CO₂ reductions even when direct access to HVO100 isn’t feasible, demonstrating that impactful sustainability is within reach.

What this means:

• Samskip’s adoption of HVO in its trucking operations complements our long-standing use of renewable fuels across vessel fleets, reinforcing our role as an environmental leader in logistics.
• By participating in this program, Samskip supports the decarbonization of road transport, contributing to a cleaner, greener Europe.

“This partnership is a powerful example of how collaboration can unlock practical solutions for complex sustainability challenges. Together with FincoEnergies, we are driving progress and reducing our environmental impact,” added Samskip Sustainability Manager, Laurens Dourleijn.

The pilot phase of the Biofuel Swap program is already in motion, with a reduced tariff of €0.10 per liter blending cost, making this an accessible and impactful choice for logistics providers.
