Samskip’s Event Highlights:
Effective Service Begins With Successful Engagement
In the past few months, Samskip has been actively participating in key industry events, showcasing our extensive network and services, and strengthening our relationships with partners and customers. Here’s a look at recent events where Samskip made a notable impact: The Multimodaal Transport Expo in Breda, The Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona and The Multimodal NEC Birmingham Expo that took place in the UK.
Multimodaal Transport Expo, Breda (March 2024)
The Multimodaal Transport Expo provided an excellent platform for Samskip to demonstrate our comprehensive network and services to the market. The foot traffic was great at this event where we had the opportunity to connect with numerous partners and potential customers. The highlight of the event was the significant traffic at our stand, which led to several promising leads for new business.
Our primary focus at the expo was to emphasize our rail connections to Italy, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), and Sweden. This aligns with our commitment to promote multimodal transport solutions. Participating in this event was crucial for us to engage with the local Benelux market and showcase the dedicated team behind Samskip. Our main message to our visitors was simply that Samskip has the expertise and resources to assist customers in making the transition from road to multimodal transport, ensuring efficiency and sustainability in their logistics operations.
Seafood Expo Global, Barcelona (May 2024)
The Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona was another significant event for Samskip, where the main focus was on meeting our current and potential customers. Representatives from our offices in Iceland, Norway, Faroe Islands, Rotterdam, China, and the UK gathered to understand the latest developments in our customers’ businesses and explore ways to best support their continued success.
The expo was a resounding success with an excellent turnout. Our stand attracted a lot of traffic, and we had numerous fruitful meetings with customers and other visitors. This event provided a perfect stage to present Samskip’s reliable logistics services, our commitment to sustainability, and our focus on delivering superior customer service.
Although the event did not feature our recent new services, it was primarily about being visible, making connections, and strengthening existing customer relationships. The Seafood industry is crucial, particularly for Iceland, and our presence at the expo reinforced our dedication to addressing the needs and concerns of our customers.
Multimodal NEC Birmingham Expo – June 2024
The recent Multimodal NEC Birmingham Expo was another milestone for Samskip. The focus of our participation was on promoting Samskip’s reliable and green logistics solutions and the significant value these provide to our customers. The event was a major success, with approximately 500 visitors to our stand and over 100 meetings with both existing and new customers and suppliers.
This year marked the first time Samskip hosted two tables at the awards dinner, featuring our group CEO, Group CCO, and Regional Director among other key figures. Although we did not win the Sustainability Company of the Year award, we were very proud to have been nominated and to sponsor the Young Freight Professional of the Year award, which Samskip CEO, Kari-Pekka Laaksonen presented.
Participating in the largest UK shipping and logistics show each year is vital for us. Our dynamically designed stand captured the attention and imagination of attendees, serving as a focal point for customers and suppliers.
To all our visitors who joined us at these or other recent events, we extend our heartfelt thanks and we look forward to continuing our collaboration now and in the future.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to participate in such pivotal events, Samskip remains committed to being a reliable partner in the logistics industry. What’s next? Just ask our Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) colleagues! They have big plans for their region in the second half of the year so stay tuned!
