Door to door connections between Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark serving over 30 rail and short sea terminals.
In Norway, with our own distribution system of 14 own terminals and 46 agency terminals, we deliver nationwide (overnight) from the main Oslo hub. Samskip’s terminal to terminal service to/from Norway give clients the opportunity to access the network using their own equipment.
Additionally, we offer terminal to terminal services to/from Sweden – Denmark, Copenhagen as well as Melzo.
From the regional offices and agents located country-wide, Samskip has built a unique system with a large fleet of trucks in a comprehensive transport network in Sweden and Denmark which reaches practically all domestic destinations within 24 hours.
Full container loads, groupage and part load solutions are available for our clients to transport to/from Scandinavia.
In Iceland the core services include warehousing and handling, inland transportation & logistics and distribution of goods in the Reykjavík area. We also operate the Saefari ferry, sailing from Dalvik to the offshore islands of Grimsey and Hrisey.
With scheduled transports to 75 locations in Iceland, of which 57 depart daily from Reykjavik, and in most cases delivery within 24 hours from reception, Samskip operates an efficient transport network. Internal processes and procedures ensure that each product category gets appropriate handling, e.g. all trucks enable the transportation of fresh and frozen food merchandise as well as dry goods and hazardous loads. Operations are managed in Reykjavík and local service offices throughout Iceland. Clients include national and worldwide contractors and construction builders, retailers, wholesalers, domestic manufacturers.
Inland transport is handled by around 70 trucks and trailers and another 30 smaller trucks and trailers handle the distribution and pick-up in the Reykjavík area. To safely transport and store food products, we have implemented an active, internal control based on the Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points quality standard (HACCP).
