Scotland service upgraded to 2 short sea sailings/week

As per our customer request for more ability and frequency to and from Scotland, our current Amsterdam-Hull service sailing 3x per week will be updated to 2x Amsterdam-Hull and 1x Amsterdam-Grangemouth per week, starting on October 6th.

The new schedule is in place as of this Saturday and we start with the first Amsterdam – Grangemouth sailing, departing on Tuesday 6th - arriving in Grangemouth on Thursday 8th October.

"Our customers have been asking us for more capacity to and from Scotland for some time" said Scott Montgomery, Samskip’s Manager of Sales & Operations in Scotland. "They like our reliability and our reach into continental Europe - it just makes sense to them and we’ve been working hard to make this happen and give them increased capacity and shorter transit times."

With a midweek call linking Grangemouth to Amsterdam, opportunities to upgrade existing connections are opened up too. "Norway now has more connectivity with Scotland via Amsterdam and our transit times to and from the Ruhr are improved with rail connectivity to Duisburg" Scott continues. ‘With the last phase of the Brexit transition on the horizon and question marks over what a post-covid world might look like, customers want the continuity and certainty that our services deliver’.

For the Eastbound sailing the vessel is scheduled to leave Grangemouth on Fridays to arrive in Amsterdam on Saturdays.
For Amsterdam to Hull sailings the vessel will depart from Amsterdam on Saturdays (arrival Sunday night) and Tuesdays (arrival Wednesday).”
