Jens Holger Nielsen bids farewell to Samskip

Jens Holger Nielsen helped Samskip become one of the most important pan-European shipping and logistics companies offering multi-modal transport and related services by land, sea, rail and air, through a network of over 70 European offices.

"After 12 years at Samskip I have decided that it is time for me to open the next chapter of my career. The Samskip organisation was informed about this in July . I am proud of what we have achieved at Samskip and look forward to the next transformation opportunity, which I will now be able to consecrate more time towards. I would like to thank the owners of Samskip for their support in my decision and I look forward to continue our relationship through specific consultancy tasks in the coming months” said Jens Holger Nielsen.

"We respect Jens' decision and understand his wish to leave at the height of his career. Samskip and its owners express sincere thanks and appreciation for the trust and dedication demonstrated by Jens over the years and wish him the very best in his future endeavours. We have a new management structure underway to continue the development of Samskip which we will announce at a later stage,” said Hjörleifur Jakobsson, Chairman of the non-executive Board of Directors.

Current development involves a transformation process, including a compelling new technology platform in the aim to increase flexibility, further enhance customer focus and value proposition, operational transparency, cost efficiency and ease-of-use.

With a Samskip Group turnover exceeding Euro 800 million this year and 1600 people in 24 countries Samskip is one of Europe's largest multimodal, short sea and logistics operators, aiming to become the leading North Atlantic and Pan-European operator.
