Increased reliability and capacity on Norway service
As from week 42 Samskip Multimodal Container Logistics will improve its Norwegian service schedule, which will increase the reliability and punctuality of the service. In the new schedule the two Samskip vessels will call into three ports instead of four.
By decreasing the amount of ports per sailing Samskip is able to decrease the deviations in the arrival and departure times. Furthermore the new service will offer an increased capacity on the Oslo, Moss, Brevik and Kristiansand service.
Caesar Luikenaar, Routemanager Norway Service for Samskip Multimodal Container Logistics explains the changes:
“We experienced that we were calling too many ports within the same loops, while our customers did not really require that many different port calls. Punctuality and reliability of the service is seen as more important. The new schedule minimizes the chance for deviations in arrival and departure times.”
“Just like in our former schedule our Rotterdam Friday departure will call Oslo on Monday morning at 7.00 am. By sailing over the weekend this early Monday morning call minimizes the practical transit time for our customers. In the new schedule the second vessel will arrive on Thursday midday (1200 am) at Oslo. This is certainly an improvement on the former schedule as cargo can be delivered at the customer before the weekend: again minimizing the practical transit time.”
“As cargo for Larvik and Fredrikstad will no longer be loaded at Rotterdam RST, the new service will offer an increased capacity for the Oslo, Moss, Brevik and Kristiansand call. Larvik and Fredrikstad ports can still be served via loop 3 and loop 4 as well as via the Moss and Brevik ports.”
