Flatracks: Out of The Box Solutions
Not all types of cargo can be transported in containers. Therefore Samskip offers a wide fleet of flatrack equipment for cargo with special loading requirements and oversized (out of gauge) cargo. Just like containers, the flatracks are loaded onto ships, trains and trucks to be moved to various destinations across Europe. By utilizing our existing multimodal network, Samskip is able to offer a cost effective as well as environmentally friendly multimodal transport solutions for cargo with overhead or side loading requirements.
The Samskip flatrack equipment
Samskip operates a large fleet of over 1000 flatracks in different sizes such as 20ft, 30ft, 40ft as well as the recently developed 45ft flat racks. Flatrack are suited for cargo with special loading requirements as well as overlength, over-width and over-height cargo. The equipment can be loaded from the end, side and top, with the maximum cargo weights as per country regulations.The Samskip flatracks are presented with lashing equipment, and tarpaulins to cover the cargo.
