New agent in Canada

Samskip Inc has appointed Gillship Navigation as the company´s agent in Canada, first and foremost serving the Icelandic market, as of 1 July 2008. Gillship Navigation is a major independent NVOCC offering both LCL and FCL services to the marine transport marketplace. Gillship will take over from Norton Lilly, that has served Samskip well for a decade.

With the new agency agreement with Gillship, Samskip is able to offer customers better and more extensive services in this area. Gillship offers air freight, trucking, warehousing and documentation services. The company also provides project logistics, chartering and a variety of specialisations including dangerous goods, reefer cargo and letters off credit.

Gillship Navigation was founded in 1981 in recognition of the rapidly changing role of the international freight forwarder in the transportation marketplace. Covering 18 direct weekly export services and upwards of five hundred 500 indirect destinations, and 20 direct weekly import services, Gillship continues to grow as a significant force in Canadian marine logistics.
