Finn Tugwell Danish ChampionSamskip-supported Danish table tennis player Finn Tugwell is ready for the European Championship, which will be held later this month in his native Denmark.

Tugwell, 28, took his third Danish national title in singles in the Danish Championship finals recently. He was also a favourite for the men's doubles with his doubles partner Michael Maze, but they had to withdraw due to Maze´s back injuries.

Samskip Logistics is sponsoring Finn Tugwell. "We like to see him compete with the best in the world and at the same time ensure that Samskip Logistics is being presented in one of the most positive ways possible in a global setting," says Steen Osorio, Samskip Denmark managing director.

Denmark is steadily progressing to the pinnacle of world table tennis, thanks to players like Tugwell, who won the bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, and his doubles partner Michael Maze, who is currently among the top 15 players in the world.

With the European Championship on Danish soil, the road is prepared for a successful 2005 European Championship both as an event and a sporting competition. The championship, which will be held during Easter, will draw representatives of 41 nations, including more than 700 players, officials, and members of the media.
