Samskip upgrades services to the Faroes

Weekly calls in Torshavn by M/S Arnarfell and M/S Helgafell

19.11.2004

Iceland_Nov_2004Following the opening of its new office in Torshavn in the Faroes at the end of September, Samskip has now decided to increase the number of calls its ships make there. As from the second week in December, therefore, M/S Arnarfell and M/S Helgafell will call at Torshavn on their routes from Europe to Reykjavík. The first call will take place on 13 December.

This change has been made to upgrade still further Samskip's services for importers and other customers in the Faroes; the company will now run direct weekly services from continental Europe and Scandinavia to Torshavn. Thus, goods put on board a Samskip vessel on a Friday in Aarhus will arrive in Torshavn the following Monday, only three days later.

It is only just over six months since Samskip vessels began calling at Klaksvík in the Faroes on the way from Iceland to England and continental Europe. The M/S Skaftafell and M/S Akrafell call there every week; no changes are planned to these schedules.
