Samskip Ltd acquires the TECO LINES agency in the UK
In a move viewed by the company as an excellent opportunity to further strengthen its position in the UK, Samskip Ltd has acquired the Liverpool-based agency of Estonian shipping company TECO LINES AS, in which it holds a 50% share, from Vogt & Maguire Liner Ltd.
The Liverpool facility will operate as new Samskip UK branch office, adding to the company's long-time presence in Immingham, while Vogt & Maguire will continue its close co-operation with TECO LINES and Samskip, and act as their port agent in Felixstowe.
TECO LINES AS operates a weekly short-sea container service linking Felixstowe, Antwerp and Rotterdam with Helsinki and the Estonian port of Muuga, and recently increased the frequency of its Rotterdam-Helsinki service to twice-weekly. In addition, the company also operates a service connecting Bremerhaven and Hamburg with Muuga.
