Samskip Multimodal Container Logistics has appointed a new local agent in Poland. As per the direct, Burger Poland will be the new official agent in Poland, representing the services of the entire Samskip Group.
Samskip Multimodal Container Logistics has appointed a new local agent in Portugal. In addition Samskip will improve its services to and from Portugal. With the increasing volumes on the existing Samskip services to and from this area, Samskip felt it appropriate to review the set up in Portugal.

As you might know, Kloosterboer Aalesund and Kloosterboer Terminal Rotterdam are part of the Samskip group since May 2005. Since then both companies have been working under the Kloosterboer brand name. In order to differentiate our brand and strengthen our product specialisation, we have decided to re-brand our companies to FrigoCare as of the 1st of December 2009.
Samskip in Iceland has decided not to send Christmas cards to customers this year, but instead donate the equivalent amount to the Icelandic Family Aid.

M/V Helgafell arrives in Reykjavik Wednesday 16 December (voy.no. 0949 HEG) and leaves Reykjavik again Friday 18 December at 00.00 (voy.no. 0951 HEG) for Vestmannaeyjar and Europe. The Arnarfell arrives in Reykjavik Tuesday 22 December (voy.no. 0950 ARN) and leaves Reykjavik Friday 1 January 2010 (voy.no. 0953 ARN) for Vestmannaeyjar and Europe.

Her name is Birna Ragnarsdóttir and she has been with Samskip for almost 24 years. She left her home town to go to school in Reykjavik when she was 17 and after graduation she joined Hafskip, a small shipping company. In 1986 she joined the Samskip family. She is now director of Customer Services.
Samskip Multimodal Container Logistics can draw upon 30 years of experience operating flatrack equipment between the Benelux, Germany, the UK and Ireland. Now that experience is being made available to a wider network of customers.

Silver Sea, Norwegian reefer vessel operator 50% owned by Samskip, has added two reefer vessels to their fleet. The vessels previously owned by Eimskip now named m/v Silver Lake and m/v Silver River.

For the second consecutive year, Samskip Multimodal Container Logistics participated at the Multimodal show at the Birmingham NEC from the 28th till the 30th of April 09. The show seems to succeed in its goal to become the UK’s largest transport event. According to the organizers Multimodal 2009 recorded a 66% increase in visitor numbers.
It is the fourteenth time Samskip participates in the biggest seafood show in the world, taking place in Brussels 28 – 30 April.
