Samskip extends its online customer services
Samskip Multimodal Container Logistics has fully redesigned its existing electronic services and extended its online customer service capabilities. Samskip now offers two different types of e-services: the new Service Web and direct EDI possibilities. Depending on the size, preferences and requirements of the customer, the most suitable e-service can be offered.

Samskip adjusts Iceland Services to changed economic environment
In light of the economic crisis that is engulfing the Icelandic nation, in addition to declining imports, Samskip’s sailing schedule to and from Iceland has been reviewed and restructured: three container vessels will now handle the company’s transport on this route instead of the previous four.

New agent in Canada
Samskip Inc has appointed Gillship Navigation as the company´s agent in Canada, first and foremost serving the Icelandic market, as of 1 July 2008. Gillship Navigation is a major independent NVOCC offering both LCL and FCL services to the marine transport marketplace. Gillship will take over from Norton Lilly, that has served Samskip well for a decade.

Samskip adds Greece to its pan-European multimodal network
Samskip Multimodal Container Logistics has added Greece to the list of countries in Southern Europe that it now serves by road and rail. It has appointed one of Greece’s major transport and logistics specialists, Carel Ltd, as its agent and has launched rail services linking Mannheim and Rotterdam with Athens and Thessaloniki.
