Samskip set to acquire Seawheel
Samskip further consolidates its position as Europe's leading intermodal shortsea shipping company.
On Sunday, 24 April, agreement was reached on a far-reaching form of co-operation between the Icelandic shipping-to-logistics company Samskip and the Dutch Kloosterboer Group whereby Samskip will acquire a number of coldstore companies that belong to Kloosterboer. This move will create one of Europe's leading specialists in reefer logistics for the seafood industry and together the companies intend to grow this sector of their business globally.

In relation to the increased service to the Faroe Islands, which Samskip started in December 2004, Samskip has decided to move our terminal activity for the Iceland and Faroe Islands operation, from Moss to Oslo.
This will be done as from 1st of February, week 5. All LCL cargo to be shipped from Norway in week 5, must be delivered to the Oslo terminal.

The beginning of the year saw the opening of Samskip's first office in the Ukraine. Located in the capital, Kiev, it will enable Samskip to offer house-to-house transport solutions for domestic shippers as well as international companies.
