Samskip Multimodal Container Logistics has the following job opportunity available:
Vessel Planner
You will assist in making the best possible use of vessel capacity and administratively handle the containers going on board of our vessels with destination to several countries in Europe. Other tasks are:
- Analyse stowage specifications and vessel capacity data.
- Perform calculations to determine appropriate container loading configurations and placement to maximize container capacity.
- Confer with the Equipment Control department to coordinate movement of empty containers.
- Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Prepare and maintain required production and vessel schedule reports.
- Coordinate working and port times with agents to minimize costs.
- Create load lists and provide terminals and other suppliers with necessary information.
- Monitor timely sailings.
- Maintain regular communications with all necessary parties
- Process customers’; paperwork and send to the correct port.
- Follow all customs and dangerous goods formalities.
- Check all vessel related port costs.
We are seeking a professional with a “can do” attitude. An independent and enthusiastic self-starter, analytical problem solver, results and detail oriented profile blended with a good dose of sense of urgency to achieve the agreed objectives. Well developed communication skills are necessary.
Nautical knowledge and relevant experience in similar positions are necessary.
The position is full-time and based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Spoken and written Dutch and English are mandatory. The position requires shift work and weekend duties.
